Healing the ancestral line has been very important work this past year and it will be even more so in 2017. We simply cannot drag the past with us into the Age of Aquarius, which is way overdue. Healing the tree dissolves the negative impact of the past and brings in the beneficial soul qualities that the ancestors offer us. Some wonderful stones have arrived to assist us and Crystal Prescriptions volume 6: Crystals for karmic healing, soul reintegration and ancestral clearing will be out in the Spring.

We’ve been using a tree cloth as a basis for the grid for this work and, by a wonderful piece of serendipitous synchronicity, I came across the illustration below.

Did you realise that inside the back of your skull there is indeed an ancestral tree? Its roots are located in the oldest part of the brain and then it rises up through to the newest. Exactly like the inheritance we carry from our ancestors. It would have been good to have recognised that while there was time to include it in the book, but I can share it with you now. Such a wonderful example of the ‘as above, so below. As within, so without’ maxim too. Good old Hermes Trismegistus. He was a wise being indeed. Hermes, otherwise known as Thoth or Tehuti, was the Egyptian equivalent of Mercury. He was the Keeper of the Records and so is a useful ally in ancestral line healing work.

Quite apart from the effect of inherited ancestral memory, our earliest relationships are made within the family and may well reactivate our karmic expectations. They will certainly influence our adult relationships, social and familial. And they will definitely reflect the relationship style that has passed down the generations before us. Some families are loving and supportive, nurturing those in their midst. Others, sadly, are not but it is never too late to reverse the effect. Crystals generate an even more loving atmosphere within a loving family, or heal the results of lack of love in an indifferent or abusive one. Most emotional problems that families face have been passed down through the ancestral line, child learning from parent and passing it on, not knowing anything different – a situation which needs immense forgiveness and compassion. Using a simple visualisation and the assistance of a crystal, the whole family line can be reprogrammed to enjoy love and project it forward to future generations.

If you have an actual family tree use it for this ritual, which reaches way back into the prehistory of the family, otherwise find a picture of an actual tree with deep root, visualise one or use the illustration below. Dedicate your crystal to heal the whole family line.

Ritual: ancestral healing

• Holding your ancestral healer crystal, picture yourself leaning against a huge tree (or see yourself in your position on your family tree). The branches are present and future generations, the roots the ancestors.
• Place the healing stone at the bottom of the deepest taproot, or the start of the family tree. Tell yourself that this is the place of healing for the family as you stand your crystal here.
• Feel the crystal emanating forgiveness and loving compassion up through the roots, into the trunk and up into the branches reprogramming negative family patterns as it goes.
• Roll that love out into branches and leaves that haven’t developed yet for the benefit of future generations. Seed gifts for future generations into the branches.
• Bring that love and healing into your own heart.
• Leave the stone in place at the roots to continue the healing.
• You can extend this exercise by laying further crystals on the branches, trunk and roots of the tree as appropriate.
